Chukwuemeka Ibezim Dimiri (Chuk’), immigrated to Canada in March of 2013 as a Permanent Resident, after close to twenty years of active Law Practice in Nigeria his birth Country. For Chuk’s undergraduate Law education, he attended the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria (Great Ife), where he bagged an LL.B. (Hons) Degree in 1991 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in December 1992 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. During his Legal Practice Experience in Nigeria, Chuk’ made appearances in the Court of Appeal, Federal and State High Courts and the lower Courts. Chuk’ was into General Civil Litigation and Practice.
For his work life in Canada, Chuk’s first workstation was with the Home Depot in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Chuk’ worked with the Home Depot for 3 years from April 2013 to March 2016 as a Department Supervisor two times over. Chuk’ challenged the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, NCA Qualifying Exams, which he passed by February 2015.
Chuk’s second workstation was with the prestigious STRINGAM LLP, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, the Law Firm where he served Articles as a Student-at-Law in March 2016. Chuk’ worked in Stringam from March 2016 to May 13, 2022, when he relocated his Law Practice to Calgary Alberta to work with the equally prestigious Law Firm of Osuji & Smith (Lawyers). Chuk’ was called to the Alberta Bar on July 7, 2017. Within Osuji and Smith, Chuk’ practises as a Lawyer and Mediator. Chuk’s primary areas of Law Practice include Family Law, Employment Law, Real Estate, Wills & Estate, Civil Litigation and Mediation.
When he is not practicing Law, Chuk’ loves to be engaged with and give back to the Community. Chuk’ is a member of the Rotary International Club of Grande Prairie – Sunrise Chapter and had served two and a half (2.5 years) term as a Treasurer of the Chapter. Chuk’ is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International Club. Chuk’ volunteers with and sits on the Board of the United Way Alberta Northwest. Chuk’ volunteers with and sits as a member of the Vestry Executive Board of Christ Church Anglican, Grande Prairie, Alberta. Chuk volunteers with and sits as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Winners’ Assembly) in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Chuk’ is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (since 2019). Chuk is a volunteer and assists in providing free legal advice to members of the public through the Assistenza Legal Network Referral Organization. Chuk’ is also a roster Lawyer with the Legal Aid Alberta, an organization that assists low or no-income individuals to have access to affordable legal services. Chuk’ volunteers with the Centre for Newcomers in providing free Legal information and Legal presentations to Newcomers in Alberta, Canada.
Chuk’ is fluent and communicates well in Ibo (his native Nigerian dialect) and the English Language.
Chuk’ enjoys a 20+ years marriage to, and relationship with his Spouse, and together they have an adorable Son.
